Defending champions Bayern Munich are up to third on the league standings in the German Bundesliga this season after the big win over capital club Hertha Berlin. Bayern Munich hit their opponents for five at home without any response to show their supremacy thanks to the outstanding performance of star man Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international scored three goals during the game. Canada international Alphonse Davies was on for the entire duration of the game. The Canada player started the match on the left side of defence.
Canada national team star Davies was the assist recipient for the first goal. He provided the first goal scored by German international Thomas Mueller with six minutes on the clock. Lewandowski scored the first of his three goals on 35 minutes to give his team a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Young German national team player Jamal Musiala has made quite an impression since he broke into the Bayern Munich first team last season and he was responsible for the third goal against Hertha Berlin. He started the scoring in the second half with four minutes gone. Polish striker Lewandowki scored his second and the fourth Bayern goal on 70 minutes before he completed his hattrick with six minutes left on the clock.
Lewandowski has been able to continue from where he left off last season. He’s already the leading goalscorer in the German Bundesliga with five goals after his treble against Hertha Berlin at the weekend. The Polish striker has two more goals than Borussia Dortmund star ErlingHaaland and Union Berlin striker TaiwoAwoniyi. Lewandowski now has the record for the most goals in a single German Bundesliga season after his 41 goals last season. He was able to break the record of the late Gerd Muller who scored 40 goals in two separate seasons.
